Questions about purchasing a 2000 BMW Z3 M coupe!

Hello All!
I have been looking for a long time and I am seriously interested in purchasing a 2000 BMW Z3 M coupe. I have always loved these cars and love how rare they are! If anyone can fill me in with information they have regarding buying one of these cars that would be great. I would like to know how reliable these cars are? Are there any major concerns I should ask about the car? Since it is 10 years old what is the most common thing wrong with M coupes? What is around the right average price for an M coupe nowadays if it has about 70,000 miles on it? Anything you know or any kind of advice would be extremely helpful! My main concern is buying the car and finding out its a lemon. The car obviously isnt certified pre-owned so any repairs wouldnt be under warranty and therefore be expensive since it has that M badge. I love bimmers and I currently have a 2006 BMW X5 4.8is that I bought certified pre-owned and it has been great. I also had purchased a certified pre-owned 2005 BMW M3 that I loved. Since I have only dealt with certified pre-owned I cant help but to be skeptical. Hopefully I will hear some good news because I would love to go through with the purchase and officially become a member on this site! Thanks in Advance for any responses!

I would say that for that particular year the only major issue would be the possibility of damage to the area where the diff attaches to the floor of the trunk or hatch area. It's hard to see from the back hatch because you have to remove a lot of glued down carpet but you should be able to see the diff ear and other areas from underneath. The other thing to worry about in a higher mileage car would be the water pump and associated cooling system parts and pieces such as the fan. If you want real rarity you should find a 2001 or 2002 M Coupe but the s54 motor has a few extra issues.
